Zainab B. Awelenje

Zainab B. Awelenje was admitted to practice law in New Jersey in 2019. She received her Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2018. Prior to joining Malamut and Associates, she served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge John J. Burke III at Burlington County Superior Court. While in law school, Zainab served as Judicial intern to the Honorable Judge John E. Sparks Jr. of the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in Washington, DC. Passionate about environmental law, Zainab has performed work at the Baltimore City Law Department and Baltimore City Department of Housing where her work focused on Land Use, Zoning, and Condemnation issues.

Zainab has also performed work in alternative dispute resolution as a Mediation extern with the Connecticut Judiciary and has served as a Yale Sappern Fellow at the New Haven Superior Court. Zainab has Bachelors degrees in Political Science and French from Hood College and a Masters of Science in Global Affairs with a concentration in International Business from Rutgers University.
