Joel R. Kotler Esq. is an experienced workers compensation trial attorney. His current practice is focused on the representation of injured workers in New Jersey. Mr. Kotler has 20 years of experience having represented both the respondent (Companies and insurance carriers).  Mr. Kotler initially worked in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania representing petitioners and plaintiffs in both states for personal injury and workers compensation issues.  Thereafter, he represented the defendants including self-insureds and insurance carriers on New Jersey workers compensation claims. This knowledge will benefit the clients from his initial communication setting forth a strategy to gain all entitled benefits and clarify every legal right pursuant to N.J.S.A. 34:15.

Mr. Kotler joined Malamut & Associates, LLC in April of 2016. Mr. Kotler brought to the firm a vast knowledge of experience in trial advocacy with an insight of all defense strategies and arguments before the court. This information will be of great help in guidance to this practice and representation of petitioner’s with each and every issue presented.  His focus is to communicate effectively with all clients keeping them informed starting from the intake, we will ongoing hearings, motions or trial through the final settlement. He is also experienced arguing complicated issues before the appellate division of the Superior Court of New Jersey.  Mr. Kotler has received awards as an attorney which was voted on by his peers.  Mr. Kotler has spoken and prepared seminars on New Jersey workers compensation issues to carriers, respondent companies and unions.

Mr. Kotler received his or his doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. 1993 – 1996. While attending law school, Mr. Kotler participated in a moot court competition and was able to argue before acting judges on the superior and appellate courts.  He earned his B.A., in business and real estate from Temple University, Philadelphia P.A.

Mr. Kotler is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey and has a Bar registration in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He has been admitted to practice in AU. S. District Court of New Jersey. Mr. Kotler is a member of the American Association for Justice, the New Jersey Association for Justice, the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Camden County Bar Association.

Mr. Kotler, his wife (pediatrician) and their three (3) children reside in Voorhees, New Jersey. He is an active member of the local community having been involved in coaching of all sports and school activities.
