Andrew Sarrol focuses his practice on labor and employment litigation, as well as government and regulatory affairs. An experienced litigator, Andrew has appeared in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels. Andrew has also represented clients before the NJ Office of Administrative Law, NJ Civil Service Commission, NJ Division on Civil Rights, NJ PERC, and EEOC.
Before joining MalamutLaw, Andrew served as a Deputy Attorney General (DAG) in the Division of Law’s Employment Counseling & Labor Section. In that role, among other things, he represented states agencies in matters involving the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, employee discipline, unfair labor practices, violations of wage and hour law, and unemployment appeals. Prior to that, he served as a DAG for the Division of Administration’s Office of Equal Employment, investigating allegations of discrimination, counseling clients, and training employees.
Andrew clerked for the Honorable Lisa F. Chrystal, J.S.C. in Union County, N.J. Andrew began his public service career litigating civil rights cases in federal court on behalf of the NJ Department of Corrections and the Division of State Police.
Andrew graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Circuit Review and a member of the interscholastic moot court board. He received his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from The College of New Jersey.
Andrew is a second-generation immigrant and the first person in his family to go to law school. He is a past president of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey (APALA-NJ), and a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Diversity Committee. He currently serves on the Board of Governors of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) as Regional Governor for the Northeast.
